CAREER HISTORY
Club Career
As a 2003 NSCAA high school All-American athlete, Davies made his mark as a precocious Brooks School forward. That year, he amassed Independent School League single-season records with 30 goals and 70 points. Furthermore, he led Brooks to a perfect 15-0-0 record in its first Gummere Cup season in seven years.

Not only was Davies a four-time ISL All-Star player, but he managed to receive some acclaim as an accomplished wrestler with ISL, New England, and All-American honors. After graduation, he traded Brooks for the greener pastures of a collegiate career with Boston College. With nine goals and five assists, he led the Eagles in points his freshman year, earning NSCAA All-New England first team honors.

His second season started off well, but was soon cut short by an injury that kept him out of action for most of 2005.

In 2006, Davies put the injury behind him, firing home 15 goals and adding six assists in 16 games for the Eagles. He was rewarded by being named to the NSCAA All-American first team, the All-ACC first team, and was honored as the ACC Offensive Player of the Year. His outstanding play garnered recognition from clubs in Europe, and led to trials at both Ajax Amsterdam and Hammarby IF.

In the early winter of 2006, Charlie shunned contract offers from the MLS and signed a four-year deal with Swedish Allsvenskan outfit Hammarby IF worth an estimated $175,000 annually.

In his first year with Hammarby, Davies endured a season long slump. The striker did not net a single goal until a bust-out performance in the year's final match versus GAIS.

The following season would prove to be much more fruitful for Davies as 14 goals in 27 games ranked him as one of the Allsvenskan's best in 2008. The 2009 campaign began much like the previous one as Davies returned to his goal-scoring ways but his play has been tainted by a five game suspension after an elbowing incident. The suspension turned out to mark the end of his Hammarby career; Davies was soon sold to Sochaux of Ligue 1.

Davies began his Sochaux career well, scoring two goals in his second game. However, in October of 2009 he was involved in a horrific car accident near Washington, DC before a US World Cup qualifier. Davies suffered serious injuries including a broken femur and a lacerated bladder. Given the circumstances, his convalescence has happened at a startlingly fast rate. Davies missed the rest of the 2009-10 season and will begin the 2010-11 season with Sochaux's reserves in order to regain fitness and form.

International Career
Davies suited up for both the US Under-18 and U-20 National Teams in 2004 and 2005, and made himself useful to both, scoring a combined seven goals and four assists. In 2005, he scored the lone goal against Serbia & Montenegro, as well as a hat trick in the final against Northern Ireland to lead the U-18's to a Milk Cup title.

Davies would end up making his debut for the U.S. national team in a 4-1 victory over China in June of 2007.

The striker was also named to the 2007 Copa America roster and the 2008 U.S. Olympic team where he made his lone appearance in a loss versus Nigeria.

Davies' first national team goal came against Trinidad & Tobago in October 2008 in a 2-1 loss. In 2009, Davies emerged as a key player for the US. He scored against Egypt in the Confederations Cup to help spark a remarkable American rally and later in the year bagged a rare goal in Mexico's infamous Azteca Stadium.

Davies missed the World Cup due to the massive injuries his suffered in a terrible car accident in October 2009. He has yet to return to the national team.
