FC UTRECHT DENIES BRADLEY INTEREST
Rich Fidler - Wednesday, August 17, 2011
FC Utrecht has denied reports that American midfielder Michael Bradley is nearing a swap to Stadion Galgenwaard.

Bradley was linked with a move back to Holland and the Eredivisie in a European television broadcast yesterday, and it has set the internet rumors flying.

The team, however, has bashed the rumors.

"The report is not true," FC Utrecht press officer Harry van Dam told Yanks Abroad this morning. "FC Utrecht is not interested in Bradley, nor talking with him."

Van Dam confirmed he spoke with Foeke Booy, the technical director of FC Utrecht, who explained that although head coach Erwin Koeman is looking for reinforcements, the out-of-favor American is not in their plans.

The Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder, who was on loan at Aston Villa for the second-half of last year's season, is currently looking for a move after being told by head coach Lucien Favre that he is not needed by the team for the current Bundesliga season.

Prior to joining the Foals, Bradley spent 2006-2008 with Heerenveen in the Low Country, scoring 16 goals in 57 league appearances.

Wasn't he one of Mönchengladbach's best players? He's relatively young and a regular player for the U.S. national team. I'm confused as to why he would have trouble finding a decent club.
