PREVIEW: ANDERLECHT - AS EUPEN
Arch Bell - Thursday, July 29, 2010
Sacha Kljestan will likely make his Jupiler Pro League debut when Anderlecht kick off their season on Saturday versus AS Eupen at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium.

Kljestan, who scored in Tuesday's Champions League victory over Welsh club The New Saints, should figure in the squad's starting midfield.

That came on the heels of winning the Belgian Supercup last weekend, two wins that should give the storied club plenty of momentum heading into league play this season.

The former Chivas USA man has fit in quite comfortably with the Belgian club and is looking to become a stalwart this season for head coach Ariël Jacobs.

Anderlecht have stockpiled six league titles since 1999 and have impressively finished in the top two every year but one when they finished third in the 2001-2002 campaign.

The complete opposite could be said for their opponents from Eupen who will be playing in the first division for the very first time in club history.

French striker Matthias Lepiller could pose some headaches for the Anderlecht defense though.

The Fiorentina loanee helped spearhead Eupen's run towards promotion and he is back to show the same goal scoring prowess against Belgium's elite.

Romelu Lukaku and Ziguy Badibanga are questionable for Anderlecht while Eupen appear to have a full squad.
