RECAP: TIGRES 1 - 1 MONTERREY
Thursday, January 7, 2010
Tigres appeared to have a much needed victory locked up Wednesday night in Interliga action at Robertson Stadium in Houston, only to see their eternal rivals Monterrey even the score just before the full time whistle.

Edgar Castillo played the full 90 minutes for Tigres at his usual left back spot, but he and the rest of the Tigres defense were unable to preserve the victory.

Tigres became more dominant as the game went on, and finally cracked the Monterrey defense in the 52nd minute via a goal from Alfredo Gonzalez Tahuilan. After several deflections and rebounds in the box, Tahuilan took the ball directly out of the air and volleyed it home past a helpless Jonathan Orozco.

Everything indicated that Tigres would take all three points, but then Jose Maria Basanta netted a last gasp goal to break their hearts. The defender calmly took the ball down with his chest in the box and then rifled a shot past Cirilo Saucedo to knot the game at 1.

Castillo and Tigres have one last chance to keep their hopes alive for a Copa Libertadores spot when they take on Jaguares on Sunday in Carson, California.

Realy glad to see the coverage of our guys in Mexico, when they play the Mexican national anthem before game Castillo was just standing there, his teammates were ribbing him, glad he's America now - but honestly these teams don't care about this Interliga it's just warmup
