PREVIEW: SAN LUIS - TOLUCA
Thursday, November 19, 2009
Michael Orozco is the last yank left standing, as he and San Luis prepare for a difficult playoff matchup with Toluca this weekend.

After being blown out by Gallos Blancos 4-0 in their last game of the season, San Luis will have to greatly improve if they want to surprise Apertura leading Toluca in the quarterfinals of the Mexican playoffs.

Michael Orozco hopes to gain the confidence of Miguel Angel Lopez, as the American has not appeared in the last few games for San Luis after being a staple at center back for the potosinos for most of the season under Juan Antonio Luna.

With the undeniable quality of Toluca, it is critical for San Luis to achieve a positive result at home in this series for them to have a chance of advancing.

Despite the apparent disparity between the two teams, the series is expected to be a tight one because of a San Luis roster full of experienced veterans along with the fact that the potosinos proved they can play with Toluca already this year when they tied the Diablos on the road 1-1 in October.

San Luis will be without Leonel Olmedo due to suspension, while Toluca will miss Vladimir Marin for the same reason, and Hernan Cristante because of an injury.

After the game Sunday in Alfonso Lastras Ramirez stadium, the two teams will play the second leg at Nemesio Diez Riega on November 28th for the right to progress to the semifinals.
