RECAP: BRIGHTON 2 - 0 WYCOMBE WANDERERS
Andrew Vorce - Wednesday, November 18, 2009
Jon-Paul Pittman saw thirty minutes as Wycombe Wanderers fell to fellow League One team Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup first round replay, wrapping up the first round of the tournament.

Pittman was the first off the bench in Wycombe's FA Cup replay against Brighton, but the striker was unable to overturn the deficit at hand.

Both teams played to a end to end thriller in the first game, ending 4-4 after 90 minutes. Just two games later the teams were back at it with nearly 4,000 people on hand to watch the League One clubs slug it out at Withdean Stadium.

Andrew Crofts got the home team a vital goal nine minutes before half time, with the captain making a late run into the box. Elliott Bennett noticed the midfielder's run and set the Englishman up for the opening goal.

Bennett turned from provider to goal scorer just after the hour mark with a stunning strike. Pittman had been on the field for just a few minutes when his counterpart latched onto a 30-yard shot to put the game to rest.

Gary Dicker was the only player booked for Brighton, while Matt Phillips was booked for Wycombe.

Pittman will turn immediately around to League One action, traveling to Zak Whitbread's Millwall.
