PREVIEW: WEEKEND ENGLISH ACTION
Alan Tong - Thursday, November 12, 2009
The International break throws the focus on to the lower leagues this weekend, as there will be no Premier League or Coca Cola League action.

Charlton Athletic - Milton Keynes Dons

Jemal Johnson will be keen to make a return against the high flying Addicks after making a recovery from a calf injury and a short illness.

The Dons will be without top scorer Jermaine Easter, who is playing for Wales against Scotland, which will provide an opportunity for Sam Baldock to start a league game after his two-goal performance in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in midweek. The visitors will also be boosted by the return of defender Danny Swailes after illness, but will be without Danny Woodards, who is still suffering with an ankle injury.

The hosts will be without keeper Rob Elliott who is suffering with an Abductor muscle injury, defender Frazer Richardson with a thigh injury, midfielder Dean Sinclair with a knee injury and forward Leon McKenzie with a knee injury. In addition, Izale McLeod is suspended for three games.

Even though the home team sit second ranked in League One, they are without a win in four starts in all competitions. The Dons are on a three game winning streak in all competitions.

Huddersfield Town - Wycombe Wanderers

Jon-Paul Pittman will be looking to build on his goal-scoring feats of his last two appearances as he and his teammates travel to the sixth ranked Terriers.

The Chairmen will have a familiar face returning to their line-up as striker John Akinde returns on a month long loan from Bristol City after scoring seven goals in eleven starts last season before his return to Ashton Gate. The visitors will be without Craig Woodman through suspension following his sending off against Brighton and Hove Albion in last weekend's FA Cup game.

The hosts will see the return of winger Anthony Pilkington, who has made a quick recovery from a hip injury. They will be without forwards Robbie Simpson with a thigh injury and Lee Novak with a shoulder injury.

Huddersfield have only lost one of their last six games, while Wycombe are looking for their first win in thirteen.

Notes:

Zak Whitbread is still injured, and will miss the Millwall visit to Brentford.

Ian Joyce will be on the bench for Southend at Yeovil.

Eric Lichaj is suspended and will not play for Lincoln City who host Cheltenham Town.

Seb Harris will hope to make the bench as Northampton Town in their home match with Grimsby Town.

The Wycombe game will be shown on Sky so there should be internet streams available if anyone wants to see Pittman.
