Jamil Fearrington will patrol Roskilde's central defense as they seek to head into the winter break on a winning note when the team hosts 12th-place FC Fyn on Sunday afternoon.
A plague of injuries, illnesses and untimely suspensions have left Roskilde gasping for air many of the fall months, barely wading above the relegation line.
While showing momentary flashes through a number of near-misses and the occasional upset, they are still searching for the consistency and ability to lock down vital wins, as evidenced by their trio of victories through the first 14 games of the schedule.
The team is certainly eager to head into their four-month winter break, allowing the mass of hobbled players the time to recover for a push in the spring, but they can't look the importance of the weekend's matchup.
Despite their troubles, Roskilde do approach the season's midway point with their head barely above the surface and can further secure their place with a win against Sunday's opponents Fyn.
As Fyn reside just three points above Roskilde in 12th place, a home win by Fearrington and his teammates could see them leapfrog their opponents, however anything short of victory would leave them vulnerable to a drop into the bottom three should 14th-place Frem steal a result in their game at Thisted.
Highlighting Roskilde's injury list are midfielder Morten Avnskjold, who is gone for the duration of the season thanks to catastrophic leg injuries, and veteran midfielder Stefan Schmidt, who is still not yet back to full speed following a bout with illness.
Fyn have struggled for consistency after having just been promoted from the 2nd Division West and have slowly slipped closer to the bottom three thanks to their recent run in which they have taken just one point from their last three outings.
While looking to secure their place in the league, coach Anders Gerber will be forced to do without defender Jacob Schoop who is out until the spring with a broken leg, and might still be without midfielder Kenneth Andersen due to illness.
