HILL STAYING PATIENT
George Murphy - Thursday, November 5, 2009
Kamani Hill says that he is staying patient in hopes of impressing the new man in charge at Vitória Guimarães.

Guimarães, a first division Portugal team struggling thus far in their domestic league, brought in a new coach last month following the firing of former manager Nelo Vingada.

Paulo Sérgio, a Portuguese coach and former player, took over for Vingada on October 14th, and seems to favor some of the team's domestic players that he has worked with and has seen play in the past over Hill.

"He (Sérgio) has coached in the first division and has seen most of the guys on the team play already, so I have a bit of work to do to prove myself to him". Kamani told Yanks Abroad. "He has been telling me that I've been doing well, and that he thinks I have quality. I've done well with the few minutes I've had (playing for him so far), scoring in an Intercolar match and also making my debut for three minutes in a cup game.".

Kamani has lined up in several positions in the past for both club and country, and his versatility may leave him more options when his time comes.

"We play a 4-3-3 with two attacking midfielders, a very offensive formation which we can play since we have a fast back line. When I've played, I've been at left wing and at times one of the attacking midfield positions".

"I've been playing well but haven't been able to make the (starting) eighteen lately, but i think he (Sérgio)will be looking to change things soon".

Vitória Guimarães are currently in 13th place in the Liga Sagres with seven points, just one point above the relegation zone. They will play first place Sporting Braga this weekend.

Kamani Hill will eventually break into the line up at Guimaraes because he is a great competitor and an exciting attackiing player! He will make his impact felt!
