PREVIEW: WEEKEND DANISH ACTION
David Smith - Thursday, October 29, 2009
Benny Feilhaber and Jeremiah White will try to snap Aarhus' poor run of results when Midtjylland come to visit while Michael Parkhurst will hope to once again get the start for Nordsjælland against Brøndby.

AGF Aarhus - FC Midtjylland

Benny Feilhaber should get the start in midfield while Jeremiah White could see substitute action as Aarhus will try to halt their nosedive when Midtjylland pay a visit to the NRGi Park on Saturday.

Aarhus once again put in an underwhelming performance on Monday in being shut out at home by Nordsjælland, with the loss being their fifth in six games and dropping them well below the lofty position at the head of the league which they had enjoyed earlier in the season.

They will well remember their last meeting with the Wolves in mid-September as they turned in perhaps their worst defensive performance in the 4-2 loss, but will be looking for a bit of revenge in the rematch.

The earlier meeting also represented a significant point in Midtjylland's season, as it began their current strong run in the league during which they have notched up three wins in five.

They are currently flying high after Wednesday's 5-0 thrashing of Esbjerg in the Danish Cup and will try to ride the momentum as they seek to escape the pack resting just above the relegation line

The long-term injured quartet of Mark Howard, Anders Nielsen, Ulrik Lindkvist and Niels Kristensen are set to be on the sidelines for Aarhus once again, while defender Anders Kure is questionable after missing last weekend with a rib injury.

Midtjylland coach Allan Kuhn can count on a mostly full squad, with midfielder Christian Sivebæk out through a knee injury. Danny Califf will likely play no part in the Wolves' lineup.

FC Nordsjælland - Brøndby IF

Michael Parkhurst will hope that his return to Nordsjælland's lineup in Monday's win in Aarhus was not temporary as the Wild Tigers host local rivals Brøndby IF on Sunday.

Parkhurst had found himself resigned to the bench in recent weeks, however went the distance in both of Nordsjælland's recent wins in league and cup competition, possibly signaling a return to his coach's favor.

The pair of wins also marks a small turnaround for the Wild Tigers, as they had previously suffered four straight league defeats and are part of the trio of teams hovering above the relegation line on 14 points.

Coach Morten Wieghorst's troops will need to be on their toes against a tough Brøndby team which has won four of their previous six in league play, but will hope that the weight of their visitors' midweek loss to Vejle in cup competition will shift momentum to their favor.

With the team having already played their cup game one week earlier, Wieghorst can count on a fully rested and healthy squad for the game.

For the visitors, keeper Stefan Andersen should be back in the lineup after missing the team's cup game in midweek however midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli is a question mark as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Notes

Marcus Tracy will likely not take the field for Aalborg as they travel to league leaders Odense on Monday, with the embarrassment of Thursday's Danish Cup loss to 2nd Division team Hobro still fresh in their heads.

Jamil Fearrington is suspended and will not take part on Sunday as FC Roskilde host Lyngby BK, hoping to take their second straight win after last weekend's upset over Fredericia.
