PREVIEW: VPS - IFK MAREHAMN
Bri-Mathias Hodge - Friday, October 16, 2009
Lawrence Smith is expected to get the start up top as VPS line up against their visitors from Finland's autonomous province, the Åland Islands, at Hietalahti on Saturday afternoon in the season's ultimate contest.

Smith will be looking to up his goal total for the season from the current three and could take the honors as the club's leading scorer with a hat-trick.

An interesting sub-plot for the match will be how VPS defender Jani Lyyski handles playing against his father, IFK coach Pekka Lyyski.

Jussi Aalto is questionable for the hosts with flu-like symptoms while Antonio Inutile and Juho Alasuutari are expected to play despite just returning from compulsory military service.

Mariehamn will end the season in fourth place in the Veikkausliiga standings, no matter the result, while VPS can assure themselves of 8th place with a tie.
