PREVIEW: WEEKEND BELGIAN ACTION

Niko Gkionis and Royal Liege play at home, while Laurent Manuel and Oostend hit the road in Exqi League action in Belgium this weekend.

Liege - Lierse

Royal Liege will have their hands full this weekend when Chuck Kim's former team, Lierse comes to town to take on the next to last place Walloons.

Niko Gkionis will be hoping to get back into the action, after not making the bench last weekend in his team's two goals to none loss at the hands of Wetteren.

Although Les Sang et Marine are reporting no injuries, both Christophe Kinet and Hans Dibi were shown red cards last weekend, so will miss out on this home game that they are desperate to get something from.

Lierse have a few absentees to deal with as Egyptian striker Dodo Elgabas has been called to the Egyptian national team to take part in the World Cup qualifier against Zambia.

Right winger Tim Matthys, who suffered a bruised calf in last week's game, will be assessed prior to the game but Frédéric Frans, who picked up a slight tear in his calf in the same game, will definitely miss out.

Ex-Canadian international and former Fulham and Everton striker Tomasz Radzinski has resumed training after a neck injury and is expected to play after missing last weekend's game.

Liege have just a pair of points after seven games so must hold their nerve in this important game if they hope to get out of relegation trouble.

Turnhout - Oostende

Equal on points with Lierse but a spot below due to goal difference, Oostende can claw their way up to second place when they travel to KV Turnhout on Saturday afternoon.

Laurent Manuel put in a shift for Les Côtiers last weekend as they came out of it with a point after the scoreless tie against KVSK United last Sunday afternoon. The New Yorker will hope to start this weekend at Stadspark.

Neither team have published injury reports so should be at full strength when they meet Saturday evening.
