PREVIEW: NK CROATIA SESVETE - HNK RIJEKA
Arch Bell - Thursday, October 1, 2009
Johann Smith hopes to make another impact for NK Rijeka who travel to Stadion SRC Sesvete in Zagreb on Saturday to take on NK Croatia Sesvete in Croatian Prva Liga action.

After coming off the bench at halftime in last week's 4-0 win over NK Medjimurje, Smith hopes to get another nod from head coach Zoran Vulić and help make a difference up front.

Vulić's move last week to include the speedy attacker paid dividends as Rijeka added three goals in the second half as Medjimurje had difficulty handling the pace of Hartford, Connecticut native.

After seeing out of this year's Europa League in the third qualifying round, Rijeka currently sit sixth in the league standings with 14 points and an impressive plus six goal difference.

The hosts have struggled all season long and currently sit 15th in the 16 team league and have conceded nearly two goals a game this season.

Both Vulić and Sesvete head coach Nenad Gračan are not reporting any major injuries.
