DANISH CUP FOURTH ROUND DRAW
David Smith - Friday, September 25, 2009
With all but one game of the current round of the Danish Cup finished, the draw for October's fourth round has been made giving the remaining yanks an idea of their next opponents.

Marcus Tracy saw the field for the final ten minutes of Aalborg's 2-0 victory over First Division team Thisted, and will hope to have another crack at their next opponent Hobro IK, who currently reside in the middle of the pack in the country's third-tiered Second Division West.

While Hobro can be thrilled with their impressive cup run which has included an upset over First Division strugglers Kolding, their luck may have finally run out as they will be heavy underdogs against the Superliga contenders, even with homefield advantage on their side.

Michael Parkhurst and Nordsjælland should be confident of another easy victory as they have drawn hopeful Cinderella story AIK 65 Strøby, who are the lowest classification team left in the competition by a longshot, residing in the seventh division of Danish soccer.

In luckily managing to avoid drawing any teams in any of the top three divisions, Strøby have miraculously earned their way to the fourth round with a trio of lower-league upsets, but will be hard-pressed to take anything away from the encounter beyond the rare chance to host a classic Superliga powerhouse in a meaningful game.

Danny Califf and Midtjylland must wait until October 1 to find out their hosts, as the third-round game between Superliga leaders Esbjerg and First division team Lyngby was postponed by one week.

The Wolves passed into the fourth round with an early win over Brønshøj, a result which seems to have put them on a positive path after their early-season struggles.

Danish Cup fourth round draw

Hobro IK - Aalborg BK
Lyngby/Esbjerg - FC Midtjylland
AIK 65 Strøby - FC Nordsjælland
