PREVIEW: WEEKEND SWEDISH ACTION
Bri-Mathias Hodge - Thursday, September 10, 2009
Alejandro Bedoya and Örebro go to the capital this weekend to take on struggling Hammarby while the Ljungskile boys try to get clear of the danger zone at home against Landskrona Sunday.

Hammarby - Örebro SK

Alejandro Bedoya will be hoping to make his second straight start when Örebro travel to Stockholm to take on Charlie Davies' struggling former team on Sunday evening.

Bedoya could once again occupy the left midfield spot in coach Sixten Boström's 4-3-3 at the Söderstadion.

The Somalian Yunis Ismail is still out for Örebro after having suffered a stroke midseason. James Frempong is also not expected to feature as he is on an extended trial with Watford because his contract expires at the end of the season. Moses Reed and Gustaf Lundholm are also out for the guests with long-term injuries.

Hammarby have struggled to score this season and Davies still is tied for the team lead in goals despite having been sold during the Summer transfer window. Hammarby's 16 goals in 21 games is third worst in the league.

Örebro are currently 7th in the Allsvenskan standings while Hammarby are in the unusual position, along with cross city rivals Djurgården, of fighting to stave off relegation and currently occupy the relegation playoff slot number 14.

Ljungskile SK - Landskrona BoIS

Ljungskile's American contingent welcome Landskrona to the Starke Arvid Arena on Sunday evening.

With Ljungskile's recent first choice goalkeeper Nicklas Svensson returning from yellow card suspension Colin Burns is expected to watch the start from the bench.

Ryan Miller is expected to start at right back and Etchu Tabe will hope to regain his starting spot in the heart of the defense.

Sam Brill is not expected to make the gameday lineup for Ljungskile but did take part in a midweek local cup thrashing of Stenungsund.

Ljungskile are currently 14th in the 16 team Superettan, one point deep in the relegation playoff zone while their guests are fairly secure in their mid-table 7th slot.
