RECAP: HELMOND SPORT 1-1 FC DORDRECHT

Helmond and Dordrecht battled to a one goal draw on Friday night Stadion De Braak to stay dead-locked just below the top spot in the Jupiler League standings.

American Charles Kazlauskas once again started in midfield for Jürgen Streppel's team.

The game was a feisty affair from the opening whistle as Mario Diks issued a pair of yellow cards to the visitors' Sven Delanoy and Nick Coster in the opening 45 minutes for bad challenges in the midfield.

The visitors' goal would come 15 minutes in to the second half when Genero Zeefuik scored. Dordrecht forward John Verhoek chased a ball down to the corner, appearing to trip up Helmond defender Jeroen Veldmate in the process, before crossing to the wide open Zeefuik.

The home team would level the score in the 79th minute thanks to midfielder Bruno Fernandes de Brito.

Kazlauskas played a long ball from just past the center stripe that found its way to de Brito at the top of the box. The Brazilian made space for himself just outside the area before bending a right-footed shot in to the upper left corner.

Neither team would threaten the goal again, and Helmond will now hit the road and travel to face BV Veendam next Friday evening.
