TAYLOR OUT UNTIL MID-SEPTEMBER
David Smith - Thursday, August 27, 2009
FSV Frankfurt's Matt Taylor has picked up a leg injury and is not expected to return to the team's roster until after the upcoming international break.

"Matt has a torn muscle in his leg," FSV Frankfurt press chief Matthias Gast confirmed. "He missed the game last week and is also on the injured list for this weekend's game."

Following his summer move to Frankfurt on a free transfer, Taylor has appeared twice in all competitions for the Bornheimer, however had been so far limited to only 19 minutes in league play, all coming in a late substitute role in their season-opening loss to Duisburg.

"It usually takes two or three weeks to recover from this sort of injury," Gast explained. "So he will probably miss this weekend's game in Aachen but could be back on the roster for the following game against St. Pauli."

The timing of Taylor's injury conveniently gives him an extra week for recovery, as Europe's top domestic leagues all take a break in early-September for international play, giving a better chance of returning for their showdown on September 13 against the Hamburg-based team.

Frankfurt has had a tough time in their sophomore year in Germany's 2. Bundesliga, managing only a single point from their first three games while dropping to 17th place in the league.

They will try to pick up their first win of the season when they pay a visit on Sunday afternoon to likewise struggling Alemannia Aachen.
