PREVIEW: ST. PAT'S ATHLETIC - DROGHEDA UNITED
Arch Bell - Thursday, June 18, 2009
St. Patrick's Athletic hopes to snag their third straight win overall prior to the two week summer break when they resume FAI League of Ireland Premier Division action on Friday at Drogheda United.

Midfielder Ryan Guy is set to take his normal spot in the starting lineup at United Park for head coach Jeff Kenna.

The Saints' two match winning streak included a thumping of league leaders Bohemians at home and a tight victory over First Division club Limerick during Irish Cup play.

A tricky test awaits Guy and his teammates as Drogheda United sit in last place with 12 points but have not dropped a league contest in their last three matches.

The Drogs and St. Pat's have already squared off earlier this season at Richmond Park when the Saints staved off a late Drogheda rally to win 2-1.

Kenna welcomes back Jamie Harris, Jason Gavin and Gareth O'Connor from injury while Stephen Maher returns from suspension.

The Saints head man will be without the services of Damian Lynch who injured his ankle last week versus Limerick and long-term injurees Darragh Ryan, Alan Crawley, Gary Dempsey, Mark Leech and Gints Freimanis.

Drogs head coach Alan Mathews will be without defender Alan McNally and Welsh goalkeeper Steve Williams who are out until after the summer break.
