PREVIEW: MIDWEEK ENGLISH ACTION
Andrew Vorce - Tuesday, February 3, 2009
Tim Howard will get one final crack at Liverpool in the FA Cup, while Brad Friedel eyes a spot in the next round.

Aston Villa - Doncaster

Brad Friedel helped ensure Aston Villa get another crack at Championship club Doncaster, this installment of the FA Cup being at Villa Park.

Villa came through the weekend picking up a numerous new knocks, with Marlon Harewood and Nigel Reo-Coker being the newest injuries. Harewood has an ankle injury, and Reo-Coker is out until February with a hamstring injury.

Martin Laursen continues to be sidelined with a knee injury and will not return until March.

Sean McDaid and James Hayter are both sidelined with knee issues, Hayter's being a ligament injury. Rovers will get the services of James Chambers once again, having miss the first match against Villa due to card accumulation.

Ben Smith is the only other Rover sidelined, an ankle injury keeping the keeper out of action.

Everton - Liverpool

Tim Howard and will hope to finally be on the winning end of the Merseyside faithful in their FA Cup replay, as Everton play the last game in their grueling five game run against the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool.

Philipp Degen fractured his metatarsal, and until x-rays are taken, it is unsure how long the defender will be out for Liverpool.

Everton have plenty of players back into training, with Louis Saha's return being pushed back until the weekend. James Vaughan's knee injury will keep him out until mid-March, while Yakubu Aiyegbeni will be out until June with a calf injury.

Stockport County - Milton Keynes Dons

Jemal Johnson will look to continue to stay on fire for the Dons as they take on eighth place Stockport.

The Dons will most likely be without Peter Leven and Shaun Cummings, both missing the last two games. Luke Howell will be out of the team for a few weeks after a hamstring injury, while Sean O'Hanlon picked up a knock that has kept him off the roster.

Danny Swailes and Flavien Belson continue to be long term absentees for the second place team.

Peter Thompson continues to be monitored, presumably out for six weeks with a collapsed lung, while fellow striker Matty McNeil could miss through a back injury for the Hatters.

Notes

Eddie Johnson's possible date at Arsenal has been postponed due to treacherous conditions.

Zak Whitbread will have time to work himself back in to Millwall's starting line up as their Tuesday match up with Colchester has been called off due to heavy snow.

Frank Simek is unexpected to take the field for Sheffield Wednesday as they play Barnsley on Tuesday.

Ian Joyce will be on the bench for Southend United as they take on Scunthorpe.
