American midfielder Bobby Convey has moved to quell the notion that a long-since recovered knee injury is continuing to keep the Royal out of action.
"It is getting really frustrating that people think I am always hurt," Convey told YA. "I have had one knee injury, but just haven't had a chance to play regularly enough at Reading since then - so everyone still thinks I am injured."
After starting the first three games of the 2008/09 campaign, Convey has but six further appearances this season, the last coming on January 3 in a losing FA Cup effort against Eddie Johnson's Cardiff City.
Rumors have had Convey swapping the cold of England for the colder of Scandinavia, and while the 25-year old did not tip his hand about his future, Convey was quick to reinforce that he is not standing by idly.
"I am in full training and have been working out in the gym a lot as I am waiting for my future to be sorted out," the former DC United man proclaimed. "I didn't feel as fit as I would have liked in the Cardiff game and just wanted to utilize the time to get stronger and fitter."
"I want to hit the ground running where ever I am going to be and not get out of shape now when I am not playing." |
