American center back Carlos Bocanegra is still searching for a new club team for next season according to Joe Schoenbauer of Proactive Sports, the management firm that represents Bocanegra.
“The only thing I can say is that there are clubs interested,” Schoenbauer told YA, but refused to comment specifically as to which teams might be trying to acquire the 29 year-old’s services. Proactive hasn’t put an exact timetable as to when a deal would likely be concluded, but Schoenbauer added that “certainly by the time preseason comes around something should be done.”
Schoenbauer was quick to reiterate that Bocanegra’s desire was to remain in Europe and downplayed rumors that a return to Major League Soccer was likely. The speculation is likely to persist, however, as Schoenbauer told YA that “there is nothing advanced going on at this moment” with respect to the interested European clubs.
Bocanegra’s next soccer action will take place with The United States as Bob Bradley’s men look to finish off Barbados in Bridgetown on Sunday afternoon. |
