Arguez for the USA

| Despite not playing a second of professional soccer, DC United defender Bryan Arguez is on the verge of a shock transfer to Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin.
"Bryan is still in Berlin and was impressive during his trial," representative Tom Bagley told YA. "Nothing is finalized as of yet, and discussions are still going on."
"It looks as if something will happen before the January transfer window closes."
Arguez, 19, has been with Hertha since January 3rd. Accompanying the team to Spain for their winter training camp, the Under-20 international impressed the club enough to draw a transfer fee, which has been speculated in the German press as upwards of $400,000 - a number which Bagley would not confirm.
"The clubs have yet to agree on a number," Bagley stated when quizzed about the transfer valuation. "The clubs haven't reached an agreement - the only thing holding up the move is the fee."
Should the teams come to agreement, Arguez would be the second DC United American to move to Europe in the MLS offseason, following Troy Perkins who joined Valerenga in Norway. |
