United States Under-20 midfielder Bryan Arguez has departed for the German capital for a 13-day showcase with Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin.
Arguez, a member of DC United after being drafted 11th in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft, will fly to Berlin before joining the club's winter training camp in the Canary Islands.
"He left [on Wednesday] and returns on the 15th," agent Rob Feigenson told YA. "He will join the club in Spain for a few days during their winter training camp on Tenerife Island."
"There will potentially be training matches versus clubs like Rapid Vienna, Grasshopper Zurich and Hannover 96."
The 6' 2" Arguez did not take make an appearance for DC United this, his rookie season, but according to Feigenson, Hertha has seen enough to warrant bringing in the 18-year old.
"His time with Hertha is technically a training stint with an eye towards the future," Feigenson claimed. "As a US youth national team player with strong physical attributes, the club will certainly be looking at him closely."
"Despite not featuring in a DC United match, Bryan has been playing in U20 competitions and the club has had a chance to see him compete play a bit.
"Hertha has been looking for pedigreed youth international players with the physical capacities to excel."
Arguez, who turns 19 during the stint in Europe, has eleven caps between the Under-17 and U20 squads. This summer, Thomas Rongen brought the Miami native to Canada for the U20 World Cup despite being just 18.
