It may not have been the most conventional brace ever, but count Young PSV Eindhoven attack ace Lee Nguyen as satisfied after his two goals helped the team defeat RKC Waalwijk on Monday night.
The Yank ran his season strike total to five as the junior Farmers snapped a string of four draws to climb to sixth place in the Beloftencompetitie.
Nguyen opened before 30 seconds had run off the clock - albeit in a most unusual manner.
"The first one was funny," he conceded. "The left winger came in and crossed me the ball, and I chested it in front of me."
"It went a little too far and was bouncing a little bit, and the other forward went to challenge the ball with the goalie. Both of them collided and missed the ball and it rolled in untouched."
The former Indiana Hoosier also closed the scoring, this time using a more typical method.
"The second one, I got the ball from the right side from 35 yards out," recalled Nguyen. "(I) turned and beat three guys going to the goal, came into the box and shot it left-footed into the upper left corner."
