Former US Under-20 international Kamani Hill says he is relishing the opportunity to play for Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.
"I really think it's been my dream since I've been a little kid to play in Europe," Hill told YA.
"I like the town. It's beautiful. It's really nice and I think the people really care about their football over there."
It's no secret to the California born-and-raised forward that Wolfsburg will be a much different environment than where he last played competitive soccer: UCLA.
"I'm from the Bay Area, so I'm used to the city life, real condensed, lot of people," Hill said.
"The town is much smaller and not as diverse culturally. It's really close to places like Berlin and Hannover which are much more culturally diverse and urban."
As he starts his professional career in Germany, the young forward hopes to meet up with another former Westwood Bruin player plying his trade in the Bundesliga.
"Benny Feilhaber was my teammate at UCLA," reminded Hill. "He's pretty close to me, only being in Hamburg,"
"I'm definitely going to be asking him a lot of questions and hanging out with him for the first bit." |
