RECAP: WEEKEND DUTCH ACTION
Sunday, September 17, 2006
Michael Bradley helped Heerenveen pull away from visiting NEC, while Charles Kazlauskas and TOP were treated rudely on the road.

Heerenveen 3 - 0 NEC Nijmegen

Heerenveen climbed up to fourth place with a solid defeat of strugglers NEC Nijmegen on Sunday afternoon.

American midfielder Michael Bradley came on in the 57th minute, while the Frisians were only up one. Countryman Robbie Rogers was not in uniform for the contest.

The hosts had gone on top when Daniel Pranjic set up Alfonso Alves just before the half hour, and the Croatian playmaker also set up Lasse Nilsson's strike on 63 minutes.

Pranjic then grabbed one of his own by capitalizing on an NEC defensive fumble with 13 minutes remaining.

The Pride of Friesland quickly move on to host KNVB Cup opponents Roda JC on Tuesday.

Stormvogels Telstar 4 - 0 TOP Oss

Charles Kazlauskas and the men from Oss were sent crashing back to Earth by rude hosts Stormvogels Telstar on Friday night.

The Yank defender went the full 90 minutes, picking up a yellow card along the way.

Telstar defender Richmond Bossman opened on 23 minutes and Jordy van Wijk doubled the advantage 12 minutes later.

Bossman bagged his second just past the hour, with veteran midfielder Jan Bruin connecting two minutes after.

TOP now face an extremely tall KNVB Cup task when they visit the Euroborg to tackle FC Groningen on Wednesday.

Notes

Lee Nguyen did not dress for PSV Eindhoven's 2-1 home victory over Feyenoord on Sunday.
