RECAP: WEEKEND FRENCH ACTION
Sunday, August 27, 2006
Jeremiah White scored his fourth goal of the season in a losing cause while Quentin Westberg was an unused substitute in Troyes home defeat at the hands of Toulouse.

EA Guingamp 6 - 1 FC Gueugnon

Following a difficult midweek loss to FC Istres where they had two starters sent off, FC Gueugon were unable to bounce back for their league match versus Guingamp.

The homeside were on top by the 20th minute when Yann Jouffre sent a short free kick into the area where Harlington Shéréni easily fired past keeper Romuald Peiser.

Bertrand Robert earned one more for Guingamp in the 37th minute, and though the halftime score was close, it was not indictive of the home side's domination of the match.

Five minutes into the second half, the Costarmoricaines would put their third goal past Peiser behind the combination play of Jouffre and Johann Truchet, who combined to feed forward Yohann Rivière for his third of the season.

Jouffre would then add one of his own in the 61st minute.

Philadelphia native Jeremiah White had entered in the 56th minute, and though the game was safely in hand for Guingamp, he put his side on the board with a free kick from 25 yards.

The rally was short-lived. however. as second half substitute Nicolas Haquin added two more for the Costamoricaines in the 12 minutes after White's strike.

FC Gueugnon return home to meet Tours FC in two weeks time.

Notes

Quentin Westberg watched from the bench as Troyes fell to Toulouse 2-1.
