RECAP: MIDWEEK DANISH ACTION
Wednesday, March 29, 2006
Danny Califf and Aalborg were stung by a last gasp Copenhagen winner, while Heath Pearce & Co. suffered a late meltdown at Farum Park.

FC København 1-0 Aalborg BK

Copenhagen stayed hot on the heels of tabletop Brøndby thanks to a stoppage time strike from midfielder Tobias Linderoth.

Danny Califf went 90 minutes in defense for the visitors, and picked up a caution for the second straight game.

Aab now have five teams on their fifth place heels ahead of Sunday's visit from Heath Pearce and FC Nordsjælland.

FC Nordsjælland 1-3 Viborg FF

Home side FCN dropped a galling decision to third place Viborg, who grabbed the points with three goals over the final 21 minutes.

Danny Olsen put Nordsjælland in front just past the half hour, and the lead held until José Mota feasted on a free kick serve in the 69th minute.

Olsen nearly put the hosts back on top from a Heath Pearce cross, but Viborg keeper John Alvbåge was wise to his effort.

Mikael Rosén converted another restart by the visitors with two minutes left before Mota put the game out of reach near time with a deft chip shot.

Pearce, who went the distance, can look forward to a Yank battle with Danny Califf and Aalborg on Sunday.
