RECAP: WEEKEND ENGLISH ACTION
Tim Howard and Everton drew with Oldham Athletic in FA Cup action, while Frank Simek went the distance in Carlisle United's tie with Portsmouth.
Oldham Athletic 2-2 Everton
Tim Howard played the full 90 in Everton's dramatic draw with Oldham Athletic, forcing an FA Cup fifth-round replay.
The Latics got on the board first as Jordan Obita finished off his run into the box with a goal after a low cross from Lee Croft in the 13th minute.
In the 24th minute, the Toffees equalized when Phil Jagielka's long ball was flicked on by Nikica Jelavis and then finished off by Victor Anichebe.
Early in the second half, Everton got its first lead as Kevin Mirallas' corner found Jagielka, who put his side up in the 48th minute.
The League One team leveled the game in the final minute of stoppage time, however, as Jonathan Grounds' corner was headed into the back of the net to bring about a replay at Goodison Park.
Howard was active throughout, recording 10 saves in the match.
Everton takes the field in league play next week against Norwich City.
Yeovil Town 3-0 Scunthorpe United
Mike Grella came on in the 47th minute in Scunthorpe United's loss to Yeovil Town.
In a game between two hot teams, Yeovil cam up big as they notched the victory and a playoff position in League One.
Byron Webster opened the scoring in the 28th minute, while James Hayter and Patrick Madden found the back of the net in the 72nd and 75th minutes, respectively.
Prior to this loss, Scunthorpe had won three games straight. The Iron are still five points above the relegation zone and look to bounce back with another win Hartlepool United next week.
Portsmouth 1-1 Carlisle United
Frank Simek started and played the full 90 minutes in Carlisle United's draw with Portsmouth.
The Cumbrians opened the scoring in the 51st minute when Rory Loy found the back of the net, but Liam Walker leveled the game for Portsmouth when he buried his penalty kick.
Despite the loss, Carlisle remains 10 points above the drop zone. The club takes the field next week in league play against Milton Keynes Dons.
Tim Ream and Stuart Holden did not dress in Bolton's draw with Nottingham Forest.
Conor Doyle dressed but did not feature in Derby County's tie with Wolverhampton.
Jonathan Spector made the game-day roster in Birmingham City's loss to Watford. Lee Packwood was out injured for the Blues.
Jon Paul Pittman did not feature in Oxford United's win over Plymouth Argyle.
