DISKERUD INKS NEW ROSENBORG DEAL
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Tuesday, February 12, 2013
United States national team midfielder Mikkel Diskerud has signed a new two year contract with Norwegian Tippeligaen club Rosenborg.

"Mix signed his contract," a source told YA. "The deal is final."

Diskerud, 22, began his career in Norway with Stabaek but went on loan last year to Gent in Belgium after Stabaek were hit with financial problems. After his loan to Gent, Diskerud signed with Rosenborg on a short, six-month contract.

He will now remain in Norway, where he was born, and Rosenborg is expected to contend for the Tippeligaen title in 2013.

Diskerud, who made his American debut at the 2009 U-20 World Cup, has been capped three times by the US national team. Last November against Russia, he scored his first goal for the U.S. team when he found the back of the net in a second-half-stoppage equalizer that secured a 2-2 draw.
