PREVIEW: MIDWEEK SWEDISH ACTION
Alejandro Bedoya is still looking to participate in his first win for Helsingborg this weekend against league leaders BK Hacken while Ryan Miller and Halmstad face Osters
BK Hacken - Helsingborg IF
Alejandro Bedoya will hope to start Thursday when Helsingborg host BK Hacken. There has been little rest for Bedoya and his teammates recently, with the Europa League group stage kicking off and the Allsvenskan in full swing, Thursday's game will be their fourth in 13 days.
The beginning of Bedoya's second stint in Sweden hasn't been as smooth as he would have hoped. Despite being one of his team's best attacking threats when on the field, Helsingborg have lost six of seven games he has featured in for the club, managing a tie in the other.
Eight points removed from third place and a spot in next season's Europa League with seven games left, the matchup against a surging Hacken team couldn't have come at a worse time.
Helsingborg have sputtered in recent weeks, getting only four points from their last six league games while Hacken have won eight of their last nine league games, tying Malmo once in the process.
Erlend Hanstveit is dealing with a torn meniscus and will definitely miss the match for Helsingborg while Erik Edman and Emil Krath are questionable as they both carry lingering ailments.
It looks as though Emil Wahlstrom will miss the match for Hacken. The defender had to leave last week's win over Djurgardens in the 11th minute with an injury and has yet to practice this week.
Halmstad BK - Osters IF
Ryan Miller and Halmstad, winners of seven straight, will face the stiffest competition the Superettan has to offer this week when they face Osters Thursday.
Halmstad have won every contest they've participated in since August 4th, outscoring opponents 20-3 in the process.
Miller has been a huge part of the teams success from his right back position, leading the team with seven assists while also having the most starts amongst the team's defensive group which just saw a 619 minute shutout streak snapped in the 85th minute against Trelleborg last week.
Osters have a commanding lead on the league, ten points ahead of second place Brommapojkarna and eleven ahead of Halmstad. Having only lost once, the Vaxjo based team would mathematically clinch the league title with three wins in their final six games.
Halmstad aren't missing anyone for the match but Osters will be without Mario Vasilij and Johan Persson due to yellow card accumulation.
