MLS AGREES TO SELL CAMERON
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Friday, July 13, 2012
MLS has agreed to sell Houston Dynamo central defender Geoff Cameron to Stoke City of the English Premier League.

There is still some final negotiations for the extact transfer price but the the two sides are very close and a deal is expected to be reached on Monday or Tuesday.

"MLS has agreed to sell Geoff Cameron to Stoke City," a source told YA on Friday afternoon. "The price is very nearly agreed to but it won't be a hurdle. We expect a deal with Stoke on Monday or Tuesday."

Last week it was also reported that a work permit was going to be difficult for Cameron but there is more optimism on that than before.

"A work permit shouldn't be an issue," the source added.

Cameron, 27, has spent his entire professional career with Houston and has been capped by the US national team five times including a recent World Cup qualifier against Guatemala.

US national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has indicated that he believes Cameron has a future with the team as it builds toward the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
