WOOTEN SIGNS THREE YEAR EXTENSION
US U-23 forward Andrew Wooten is set to sign a new deal tomorrow with Kaiserslautern that will keep him at the club through 2015.
"We will sign the contract tomorrow afternoon," Wooten's agent Ingo Haspel told YA on Tuesday confirming the deal.
Wooten, 22, put up phenominal numbers this season for Kaiserslautern's U-23 team with 20 goals on the year. That success saw him earn playing time with the first team towards the end of the season.
The German-born Wooten has started the last two games for Kaiserslautern's senior team who are in the Bundesliga but are in last place and will be in the 2.Bundesliga next year.
Wooten holds an American passport through his American-born father who served in the US military and was stationed in Germany. As a teenager, Wooten lived briefly in Virginia but returned to Germany to pursue his soccer career.
Wooten has not been capped by the senior US national team but was called into several U-23 camps over the winter.
