FIFA APPROVES JOHNSON SWITCH
US Soccer today announced that FIFA has approved Fabian Johnson's one-time switch from Germany to the United States and the Hoffenheim midfielder is now permanently tied to the US program.
Johnson, 23, was unable to be called to the October friendlies because he is still out with an injured disk in his neck but he could make his US debut in November.
Johnson was a former standout for German youth national teams and he was part of the German U-21 national team in 2009 that won the European Championships.
Johnson developed in the 1860 Munich system and from 2006-2009 he played in 90 appearances with the first team. In 2009 he transferred to Wolfsburg and this past summer he signed with Hoffenheim.
