PREVIEW: WEEKEND FRENCH ACTION
CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON - Friday, May 27, 2011
Carlos Bocanegra and St. Etienne host Paris St. Germain in the final game of the Ligue 1 season while Quentin Westberg and Evian finish out against Metz.

AS St. Etienne – Paris St. Germain

St. Etienne close out the season at home on Sunday when the third-place holders from the capital make the trip south to make one last push for a Champions League play-off spot.

Carlos Bocanegra will see out his 34th appearance in the green jersey, as his teammates look to reach the respectable seventh spot in the final standings.

PSG must win to have any shot at the third spot, which will put them in a play-off for the Champions League next season.

After last weekend's 2-2 battle with LOSC Lille, PSG will face several suspensions with Clément Chantôme, Guillaume Hoarau, Nenê, and Siaka Tiéné all sitting out.

The Stephanois are not reporting any major injuries or suspensions.

Evian TG FC – Metz FC

After having already secured promotion to the top-flight next season, the Savoyards look to clinch the Ligue 2 championship on Friday night, when they host the current residents of the 17th spot.

Quentin Westberg will resume his spot between the posts for the hosts, and will look to close out the season with a trio of wins as backup for the injured starting netminder Bertrand Laquait.

First-place Evian currently hold a two-point edge over Dijon FCO, who visit Angers SCO also on Friday night. A draw should be enough for the Ligue 2 Championship, unless Dijon decide to plow in six goals more than the Angevins.

Metz ensured a spot in next season's Ligue 2 with win over Nimes last weekend, and have only pride to play for. Defenders Adama Tamboura and Romain Brégerie will not make the trip due to suspension and injury, respectively. Striker Mathieu Duhamel is also on the injury list.

Evian's absentees will include Mohammed Rabiu due to suspension, in addition to the injured Bertrand Laquait, Guillaume Lacour, and Nicolas Farina.
