Desevio Payne will be on the move this summer as it was reported on Thursday that the right back will leave Dutch Eredivisie team FC Groningen for Excelsior.

The move will be confirmed once the young American complete a physical with the team.

The 21-year-old, who was born in Greenwood, South Carolina, has been with the Green-White Army since signing on as a youth player back in 2012 and worked his way up to the first team. He went on to make his professional debut on February 22, 2015 against Heerenveen.

However, Payne has found it difficult to get regular playing time as he only made 17 appearances for Groningen in all competitions during his time with the team.

The youngster will be joining an Excelsior team that just finished the Eredivisie season in 12th place. So they will be looking to improve on that position come the next season.

The move to the Rotterdam-based team could prove to be beneficial for Payne as he not only looks to get more playing time, but also get into the picture for an eventual call-up to the US national team.
