With Aron Johannsson still recovering from ankle surgery, Charles Kazlauskas and Dion Watson's head-to-head matchup in Helmond was the only action in Holland this weekend.

Helmond Sport 0 - 1 Fortuna Sittard

Helmond's Charles Kazlauskas played the entire 90 minutes for Helmond while Dion Watson came on for Fortuna Sittard in the second half as the guests were able to snag all three points from Helmond.

Helmond thought they had taken the lead in the first half, but referee Davy Otto waved off Ferry de Regt's tap in from a free kick due to interference with Fortuna keeper Ferhat Kaya.

Watson, an athletic 19 year old striker who was born in Florida, came on for 18 year old Liberian striker Seku Conneh in the 73rd minute.

Shortly after Watson's introduction, Fortuna grabbed the lead thanks to a terrible back pass from Jeffrey van Nuland.

Helmond keeper Wouter van der Steen turned his back to retreat to his net after van Nuland's back pass landed at the feet of Fortuna midfielder Jasper Waalkens. The former Helmond player lobbed the ball over the scrambling van der Steen to push Fortuna ahead in the 80th minute.

de Regt had another opportunity for Helmond, this time from the penalty spot, but Kaya made the save to preserve the game for Fortuna.

Kazlauskas was mostly quiet from his right back position on the evening, but was yellow carded in second half stoppage time.

Helmond are in action next Monday when they face Jong Twente while Fortuna play their first home game of the new season next Saturday against Jong Ajax.

Aron Johannsson is recovering from surgery and did not suit up for AZ's 3-0 road win over Heracles.
