RECAP: BORDEAUX 0 - 3 NANTES
Alejandro Bedoya helped FC Nantes cruise to a win over FC Girondins de Bordeaux on Sunday.
Bedoya started in midfield and went the full 90 for the second straight week, while Nantes pulled off one of their biggest wins of the season.
Bedoya was crucial the third and final goal of the match for Nantes in the 64th minute, when he pulled off a shot attempt in the penalty box against Bordeaux, and while the shot was blocked, Filip Djordjevic came up with the deflection for an easy score.
Bedoya was also involved in the buildup for Nantes' first goal, which came in the 41st minute when Djordjevic assisted on a shot from the center of the penalty box.
Nantes' second goal came in the 60th minute with a close range shot in the penalty box from Papy Djilobodji off of an assist from Oswaldo Vizcarrondo following a set piece.
All told, it was a strong performance from Bedoya as he continues to grow as a Ligue 1 player since joining Nantes over the summer. Bedoya also scored his first goal for Nantes a few weeks ago in a French League Cup match.
His strong club form should catch Jürgen Klinsmann's eyes as he continues to finalize this summer's World Cup roster.
The win also bumps Nantes up to 4th place in Ligue 1, and sets up Nantes for a huge matchup at home against AS Monaco- who sit three points ahead of Nantes in third place- on Sunday, November 24th, the weekend following the international break.
Still, it wasn't all good news for Nantes, as Chaker Alhadhur and Jordan Veretout were each given yellow cards.
Meanwhile, Bordeaux will attempt to rebound from this loss when they go on the road to face Stade Rennais FC after the international break.
