RECAP: OSTENDE 0 - 3 ANDERLECHT
In midweek Pro League action Anderlecht collected three points with three goals, including one from Sacha Kljestan as they beat new boys Ostende.
The reigning Belgian champions traveled to the coast in this midweek clash and had no trouble running riot an Ostende team that only returned to the top flight a few months ago.
Kljestan went the distance for les Mauves and even found the back of the net late in the game. The scoring started off however with Serbian Aleksandar Mitrovic striking first for his fourth Pro League goal of the season.
This goal came just seconds before the half time whistle. Les Mauves captain Olivier Deschacht latched on to a pass from French team mate Fabrice N'Sakala and then the Belgian dropped it on the head of the Serbian, who nodded past Cédric Berthelin between the Ostende sticks.
The second half was much easier for Anderlecht after the first goal. The next one however, didn't come until the 71st minute. After a poor clearance from Demy de Zeeuw's corner, with a little help from Cheikhou Kouyaté, Chancel Mbemba stuck it into the back of the net to put the game to bed.
Nobody told the American midfielder however that the game was already won. When Massimo Bruno's shot was deflected by Berthelin, it fell to Kljestan and the Californian struck for his sixth netbender of the season.
The only down side of the game was N'Sakala's red card in the 78th minute, five minutes after Kljestan's goal.
Next up for the boys from Brussels will be a home game against OH Leuven at Stade Constant Vanden Stock on Saturday afternoon.
