RECAP: WEEKEND NORWEGIAN ACTION
Steve Clark, Kenneth di Vita Jensen and Hønefoss' chances of survival took a huge hit with a loss against Molde.
Hønefoss BK 0 - 1 Molde FK
A Molde goal early in the first half sunk Steve Clark, Kenneth di Vita Jensen and Hønefoss at home on Sunday, leaving them in a precarious spot in the standings once again.
Clark started and went the distance in the losing effort, while di Vita Jensen filled in for the suspended Riku Riski at forward and went 58 minutes.
The first half played out like many for Hønefoss this season, as Molde controlled the match, taking nine corners to the home team's three. Still, the match went into halftime scoreless, with Molde unable to create serious chances on Clark's net.
Early in the second half, Molde managed to break through and open the scoring. In the 54th minute, Martin Linnes sent in a centering pass from the right wing to Daniel Chima Chukwu toward the near post, and Chukwu fired a shot past Clark and inside the far post.
From that point on, Hønefoss pressed for an equalizer, trying to get something positive from the match, but the team couldn't create any chances. With the loss, Hønefoss dropped back into the cellar of the Tippeligaen, three points behind Tromsø in the relegation-playoff position with three matches remaining. Hønefoss returns to action next Sunday at Brann.
Mikkel Diskerud played the final 29 minutes in Rosenborg's 1-0 win over Start on Saturday.
