Add Steve Cherundolo to the list of American players currently injured.

Kicker magazine reported on Tuesday that Hannover right back Steve Cherundolo, 33, will miss this weekend's game with knee pain. It is unclear at this time how much action he will miss.

Hannover currently sit in 11th place in the Bundesliga and but the middle of the league is tight with just three points separating Hanover from fifth place Freiburg. Cherundolo has played his entire career with Hannover since joining the club in 1999 and has participated in 15 of the club's 17 games this season.

With the US national team's first game of the final round of World Cup qualifying fast approaching on February 6 against Honduras, head coach Jurgen Klinsmann will surely be monitoring the health of his starting right back. If Cherundolo is unable to go, the likely replacements would be either Nurnberg's Timothy Chandler or Augsburg's Michael Parkhurst.

Cherundolo is not the only American player battling injuries. Schalke's Jermaine Jones also suffered an undisclosed injury when in camp with his club in Qatar.

Hannover first game after the winter break will be this Friday when it visits Schalke.
