PREDICTED OCTOBER USMNT ROSTER
Who will make the team in October?
After an uneven series of games against Jamaica, the October qualifiers are now crucial for the U.S team
The roster for these games will not change significantly from the roster in September but there will be a few changes.
First of all, the team will likely welcome back key players Michael Bradley and Landon Donovan who missed the Jamaica games with injuries. Also, Edgar Castillo also missed out on the last games with an injury but he is now healthy and playing for Tijuana.
Unfortunately, American winger Josh Gatt is probably unlikely to be called in again due to the same hamstring injury that forced him to withdraw from the Jamaica games. It is still possible for him to make the team but he would have to play and play well within the next week.
There are certainly players who are likely to make the team but who are on thin ice regarding their standing with the US team.
Maurice Edu did not play well for the US team against Jamaica in the 2-1 loss and he is also yet to play for Stoke City. He is likely to make the U.S team in October since he is very familiar with the team but if he doesn't play well and if his situation at Stoke does not improve, it could be the last time we see him with the national team for awhile.
Similarly, Jose Torres is struggling to fit into the national team this year. He plays a different role for Pachuca where he sits deep to create plays and help with possession. For the US national team, he is asked to play a more advanced positions and sometimes on the left side. As a result he looks out of place and if he doesn't perform well in October, he may struggle to get callups moving forward.
All that being said, it is highly unlikely that Jurgen Klinsmann makes any real changes to the team for the October games. For those wanting to see new faces, the November friendly will be a lot more interesting.
