DAVID SMITH - Friday, February 22, 2013
Having wasted an advantage to suffer a disappointing draw in last weekend's league action, Jozy Altidore and AZ Alkmaar will be at it once again on Sunday afternoon when the welcome NAC Breda.

Altidore's 16th league goal of the season helped AZ establish a lead over last weekend's foes Roda, however a loose bit of defending saw their opponents fight back to keep them out of the win column.

The result was a third straight game without a win for AZ, and their 25 points leaves them a bit too close for comfort to the drop zone, which is just three points below.

Just one point behind in the standings, Breda can put serious pressure on AZ should they sneak the away win, however they have had problems of their own recently, and are on a two-game winless run.

Helmond might have midfielder Adam Maher return from injury, however will be without the suspended Nick Viergever and both Aron Jóhannsson, Maarten Martens and Ali Messaoud, all of whom are recovering from injury.

NAC are not currently reporting any injuries or suspensions.

Go Ahead Eagles - Helmond Sport

After a flu-shortened shift in Monday's outing, Charles Kazlauskas could be back in the starting eleven for Helmond on Friday when they pay a visit to potentially tricky Go Ahead Eagles.

Helmond fared decently well in last weekend's busy run, taking a wild 4-3 win in Friday's shoot-out against Emmen, then held on for a point in Monday's make-up game with de Graafschap.

While each of the two teams ahead of them in the standings do hold a pair of games in hand, Helmond can indeed keep up the pressure by taking a win at the home of their seventh-place hosts on Friday.

Helmond have proven to be a tough team to beat recently in going seven straight since their last loss, and should by all means have the firepower to take advantage of the defensively poor team from Deventer, who have failed to register a shut-out in more than three months.

Neither team is reporting any injuries or suspensions.
