CHAD WINGER - Tuesday, February 12, 2013
Seb Hines and Middlesbrough host Leeds in a crucial midweek Championship clash, while a battle of Americans in League One takes place when Mike Grella's Scunthorpe play Frank Simek and Carlisle.

Middlesbrough - Leeds United

Seb Hines looks to help Middlesbrough get back to winning ways as they take on Leeds United in a midweek Championship clash.

Hines returned to the starting lineup at center back in last weekend's loss to Barnsley and should get the nod once again on Tuesday.

Boro are currently in sixth place and holding on to the final playoff spot. They have a two point lead over Brighton & Hove Albion, so three points will be key in the midweek.

Hines' team has hit a rough patch of late, as they have won just once in their last five games in all competitions. Boro lost to Leeds in December and will look for a bounce back performance.

Leeds currently trail Boro by just five points and can take a big step towards a playoff position with a victory on Tuesday. They are winless in their last two games, but an away win on Tuesday would step up the morale for the team and fans.

Justin Hoyte, Julio Arca, and Scott McDonald are sidelined for Boro because of various injuries, while Ishmael Miller is questionable with an ankle ligament problem.

Scunthorpe United - Carlisle United

Mike Grella and Scunthorpe United take on Frank Simek's Carlisle United in a battle between possible relegation battlers.

Grella started in Scunthorpe's win over Crawley Town and could play part once again on Tuesday. Simek is a regular starter for the Cumbrians and should be in the lineup.

The Iron are just two points above the relegation zone, but have lost just once in their last five games. They look to carry this surge forward with another win on Tuesday.

Carlisle is a comfortable nine points above the relegation zone, but they will still go for the three points to solidify their spot in next season's League One campaign. They have gone four games unbeaten in league play and look to extend that streak against the Iron.

Chris Chantler is questionable to feature for Carlisle as he is battling an ankle injury.

Notes

Conor Doyle could make the game day roster in Derby County's game against Hull City.

Jon Paul Pittman is not expected to feature in Oxford United's game against Fleetwood Town.
