PREVIEW: WEEKEND ISRAELI ACTION
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
ANDY SCHREUR - Friday, February 1, 2013
Bryan Gerzicich and eighth place Ironi Kiryat Shmona take on Hapoel Acre on Saturday and hope to end their four match winless streak.

Kiryat Shmona - Hapoel Acre

During the three league draws and one defeat, Kiryat Shmona has only scored two goals, including two consecutive shoutouts going into Saturday. The defending champions will need to find some offense to avoid falling further down the standings.

Hapoel Acre is currently sitting in last place and have not won a league match sine October 6. The timing for Kiryat Shmona to pick up a win may not get any better than their opportunity this weekend, especially with only six matches remaining in the season.

The Blue Lions are expected to miss Elad Gabai to injury and Lior Levi, who has handed in a transfer request, is expected to take his place in the starting 11.

Israeli news has reported that Acre Manager Simon Hadari has been fired on Thursday after the owner met with players on Wednesday night. Assistant coach Yuval Naim is expected to be named the interim coach.

Notes

Leonard Krupnik and Maccabi Netanya face third place Hapoel Tel Aviv on Saturday.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
