Maurice Edu and Bursaspor must have been happy to leave Turkey's largest city after being thoroughly beaten by Istanbul BB on Saturday.

Edu played the full 90 minutes in the Süper Lig loss on Saturday, which followed a 3-0 defeat to Fenerbahçe in Cup play on Wednesday, also held in Istanbul.

Doka Madureira put the hosts on top in the 19th minute with his first goal this season and they never looked back. Swedish midfielder Samuel Holmén added his fifth goal of the season in the 30th minute and the score remained 2-0 heading into half time.

Istanbul kept pressure on Bursaspor in the second half and veteran defender Ekrem Eksioglu scored his first goal of the season for a 3-0 lead. Edin Višća saved the goal of the match until the end when he took the ball at the midfield line and proceeded to beat two Bursaspor defenders and chip the ball over a charging Sener Ozbayrakli for their fourth goal and an incredible individual effort. Bursa midfielder Pablo Batalla was able to get a consolation goal in the 83rd minute but the match was long decided by then.

To add insult to injury, Bursaspor's bus was met with 25 protesting fans calling for club executive changes and police had to separate the protesters from blocking the team bus as it was pulling into the stadium Saturday evening.

Bursaspor falls to sixth place in the Süper Lig with the loss and Istanbul BB moves up to 10th. Edu and Bursa return to action on Tuesday and play at 1461 Trabzon in Group A Turkish Cup play.
