Bryan Gerzicich and defending champions Kiryat Shmona saw their chances for a Europa league berth take a hit with a loss to Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

Hapoel Be'er Sheva 1 - 0 Ironi Kiryat Shmona

Bryan Gerzicich and Ironi Kiryat Shmona took as a step backwards this weekend as they fell to Hapoel Be'er Sheva on the road.

Gerzicich played 86 minutes in a losing effort and the Blue Lions failed to score in the third of their last five matches. Patrick Osiako put the hosts in front in the 32nd minute when he Daniel Amos.

The Blue Lions find themselves in sixth position with Saturday's loss and are losing hope to defend their league crown or qualify for Europe with only seven matches remaining.

The goal scoring struggles continue as Shimon Abuhatzira seems to be the only viable option going forward for Kiryat Shmona. They next face off against Ashdod, who are one point ahead of Kiryat Shmona in an important match at home next Saturday.

Notes

Leonard Krupnik did not play as Maccabi Netanya drew 4-4 with Hapoel Acre.
