SCOTT PETERSON - Tuesday, January 15, 2013
It's league cup time in Italy as Michael Bradley and AS Roma square off against Fiorentina Wednesday night in Florence.
Bradley looks set to make yet another appearance in the starting 11 for Roma, who have been on a slight league skid of late dropping their past two contests.
The Romans will look to get back on track in the quarterfinal of the Coppa Italia Wednesday evening by putting in a repeat performance of last month's Serie A contest, which saw Roma win handily 4-2.
This match, however, should prove more difficult as Roma will be hampered significantly by injuries and suspension. Both of Roma's leading goal scorers, Erik Lamela and Paolo Osvaldo (ten apiece), are out due to yellow card accumulation, while Francesco Totti and Marquinho will miss with injuries.
While Roma is sure to be hurting in attack, their opponents should have all of their weapons healthy and in place. One surely to pose a real threat is Montenegrin midfielder Stevan Jovetic, who has notched eight goals in league play so far.
Kickoff is set for Wednesday evening at the Stadio Artemio Franchi at 9 p.m. local time.
