PREVIEW: WEEKEND SPANISH ACTION

ANDY SCHREUR - Friday, November 16, 2012
Oguchi Onyewu and Malaga look to rebound against Osasuna and Carlos Bocanegra will not play as Racing Santander host Villarreal.

Osasuna - Malaga

Onyewu will look for his second consecutive start for Malaga as they travel to the north of Spain to face last place Osasuna. The Anchovies will be looking to break back into the top four in the Primera División following last week's surprising loss at home to Real Sociedad.

The Little Red Ones will be riding high coming off their 3-0 victory over Espanyol last week and are looking to move clear of relegation. After finishing seventh in the Spanish league last year, this season has been a disappointment thus far for the Pamplona based club.

Malaga's Sergio Sanchez was absent from training on Thursday nursing a hamstring injury and unlikely to play on Sunday while teammate Weligton is also questionable.

Osasuna will be without Masoud Shojaei for an indefinite period of time as the midfielder underwent foot surgery earlier this week but teh squad will welcome back midfielder Alvaro Cejudo, who returned to full training this week and is expected to play this weekend.

Notes

According to Racing Santander, Carlos Bocanegra will miss up to six weeks with an injured hamstring, which he sustained in the United States' friendly in Russia earlier this week.
