Conor O'Brien and SønderjyskE will try to put aside their current league woes and get the job done on their trip to Hjørring on Wednesday in midweek Danish Cup action.
Hjørring backup defender Mike Jones has yet to make his debut with the team, and will likely be confined to the bench for Wednesday's game.
With just a single league win since mid-August, SønderjyskE have hit a rough patch and are looking for any way to gain momentum heading into the final few weeks before the winter break.
While they certainly can't take any road game lightly, facing the second-from-last team playing one division below should be the ideal opportunity to notch not only a win, but a convincing one.
O'Brien has been one of SønderjyskE's standout players in this otherwise difficult season, scoring three goals and directly setting up three more in league play while firmly holding down his crucial role in the team's central midfield.
Awaiting the winner of this game is a home date in one week with current cup holders and national powerhouse FC Copenhagen, who knocked SønderjyskE out of last season's cup competition in the semifinal round.
SønderjyskE do have several players missing from the roster. Forwards Johan Absalonsen and Kenan Hajdarevic are both injured as is midfielder Hallgrimur Jonasson, while veteran midfielder Henrik Hansen is being given a rest ahead of their weekend visit to Esbjerg in league play.
Hjørring are not reporting any injuries and have no players suspended for the game.
